If an alien race came and showed proof that they engineered us, and told us that they wanted to help us, but we had to follow their moral laws

This world would go to war with its self,kill about 40% of the people and de evolve several hundred years,before reason set in.

It is a simple theoretical question.

That would depend on what my heart told me at the time but you do raise an interesting dilemma. It's a hard one alright.

They are still warring with each other, so the argument and question is pointless.

Would we welcome our parents and brothers and sisters...Yes.

And there are probably those who still need to learn a little more to appreciate.

I would need to evaluate they're version of "moral" law before I could answer.

If a pink flying unicorn came down to Earth would you hop on it and go for a ride?

Let us say the moral laws are the ten commandments.

Neither I'd sue them for the crappy design. Moral code? Does not even rate as a bad joke.

If the moral laws are the ten commandments it would be doable as long as grace was applied. It's already been proven that humans are too stupid to follow the whole law. Even when we want to be pure we do stupid things.

If the "alien" race was benevolent and followed the laws of God then I would submit.

Interestingly that is pretty much what the book says will happen

I would tell them that I dont believe their bullshit story because I existed as energy before they ever engineered my physical vessel. I would also add that as an individual I didn't ask to be created, and politely suggest that they fuck off because I am responsible for my own spiritual and social development, and the only way I can truly learn and grow is by figuring things out through my own efforts.

I would also tell them that banishing me to a hostile planet is an expression of their damaged and deranged understaning of morality.

Ok - so I had my fun....

Siriusly though - We need police to govern/protect our homes, roads, business etc... There is a faction here that is morally bankrupt.

Tiny children in big bodies and suits...cool. Everyone gets a chance to learn.

When they do - there are other worlds open for them.

I feel this world is a mix right now of many -

And unfortunately, society is just being repetitive in teaching the ones coming in to be born.

Ahhh yet also so much strength and compassion can be learned on an individual basis.

I am definitely a better Be-ing after living on this amazing Blue planet.

This is also a place where Heaven can reach into Hell and help....

isn't that something a race/species needs to discover on its own, their own unique set of moral laws? otherwise everything would be based upon the same principles and if everything is the same there can be no new forms of advancements from any type of species.

I'd ask for a second opinion from another alien race first....

Perhaps One that was Compassionate and valued all life.

Here is the paradox.We cannot share the same moral laws with our supposed genetic fathers, because they would as a specie and a civilization be socially,technologically genetically far more advanced than us, and their customs and what they want out of life will be very different from us.

Try to teach the Xth commandments to an ape , he will probably end up hitting you with the stone tablet.

Secondly,I don't know if I would sympathize with a Alien race that played god with us, with no(or bad) monitoring and tutoring whatsoever for thousands of years, no wonder the SHTF.


So i believe if an Alien race came (back) to earth, they would probably make us their bitches .

I am talking about becoming a pet , sitting on the lap of 10 feet tall giant, and developing some weird Stockholm syndrome while he's patting your head.
