Swedish Meatballs Recipe
Hey everybody, just remember...in these End of Days times it's important to remember the basics of life. A nice walk with your lover on the beach, a beautiful symphony, an amazing sunset.

Lest we forget our tastebuds in January, the coldest month of the year, let me remind you.

Last night I pulled a regular ol bag of meatballs out of the freezer, tossed in half a can of cream of mushroom soup, a dollop (actual measurement) of sour cream and 1/2 cup of water and simmered those babies for about 20 minutes. Well let me tell ya...over some boiled and mashed baby reds it was amazing. Such balls...so gravy.

You're welcome. Easiest dinner I've made in a while.

Sounds yummy. I love Swedish meatballs, but they really are a chore when you make them from scratch.

This sounds like a nice easy way to get most of the pleasure with just a bit of the work.

Thanks!

You should be able to pick up just a regular ol' bag of frozen meatballs in your grocer's freezer!

I don't think that regular meatballs covered with mushroom soup qualify as Swedish meatballs.

Alton's version:

2 slices fresh white bread
1/4 cup milk
3 tablespoons clarified butter, divided
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
A pinch plus 1 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 pound ground chuck
3/4 pound ground pork
2 large egg yolks
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
3 cups beef broth
1/4 cup heavy cream
