It's not poverty causing it, AC. your answer is one sided. no opportunities = poverty = CRIME. try being homeless in an area that is no different than being in a 3rd world country. For six years I lived with no income, no heat, no air, and no electricity, gas, or running water (I got my water from a creek), out in the middle of a wilderness where the closest person was 4 miles away, and two of those years, after losing all that I owned in a fire, I was living in an old, leaking tent camper. Does that meet your requirements?  Theres always someone who "can't believe" a person who has had extremely hard luck in life...they got to arrange everything in their head and deny you your experience because it doesn't meet their criteria. Im glad you survived as far as you have, you are case in point that poverty doesn't always result in crime, murder, mayhem...you are taking their excuses away from them. look at the richest most powerful people in this country starting wars, robbing a whole population, running drugs and human chattel... criminals commit crime because they are crooks. i hear ya!  |
