Quoting: Sholomar You think that this is the reason that restaurants serve it in small glasses? Because they are caring for your health?? That's an interesting take. I agree, it does go well with vodka. Too well, in fact. Well enough to knock me on my a_s. Last Edited by AvgJoe on 01/24/2015 04:10 PM |

pspfantammy User ID: 51496978 United States 01/24/2015 04:21 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It took years, but I figured out why. Quoting: AvgJoe OJ is served in a small glass because it doesn't go with anything. Well that's not entirely true. I found OJ to go real well with cranberry muffins, for some reason. But that's just me. just blabbing away... This is what I learned in a nutrition class when I was pregnant, you should have a little oj or other citrus juice with your meal because you need the vitamin C to help your body absorb the iron in your food-but it only takes about 2 oz with a meal. I could be wrong on the motive, but the nutritional aspect is correct. Hence maybe the small portion. |

Juices in large quantities made you fat, and the sugars tax the whole body. Actually, OJ is often served in big glasses in the USA these days because Americans generally have no idea why they shouldn't just keep getting fatter and more diabetic. Education is a good thing. |

Quoting: Sholomar not freshly squeezed. of course it does. the sugar in an orange is about half sucrose, one quarter glucose, and one quarter fructose. squeezing the juice out won't change the basic sugar composition. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 66231847 United States 01/24/2015 04:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | maybe, in old days when they fresh squeezed oranges on one of of those old manual orange squeezer things, that "one" orange was one glass and that is prolly not a lot? - so orange juice glass size was based on about how much juice one orange can offer? |

M1.618 User ID: 61275893 Canada 01/24/2015 04:59 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The only orange juice worth drinking is freshly squeezed. Quoting: M1.618 In the morning as it goes best with breakfast foods. Sometimes I will mix it with buttermilk) tasty. And it doesn't curdle? Might try that. I can imagine the taste. It doesn't) I was pleasantly surprised to discover. I've tried other juices as well. wmMmw |
