Quoting: AvgJoe This is what I learned in a nutrition class when I was pregnant, you should have a little oj or other citrus juice with your meal because you need the vitamin C to help your body absorb the iron in your food-but it only takes about 2 oz with a meal. I could be wrong on the motive, but the nutritional aspect is correct. Hence maybe the small portion.

Actually, OJ is often served in big glasses in the USA these days because Americans generally have no idea why they shouldn't just keep getting fatter and more diabetic. Education is a good thing.
