A 32-hour workweek would fix the US economy, just as a change from 48 to 40-hour workweek fixed it during the Great Depression.
There's only a finite amount of work. That's the number one fallacy of capitalism - the belief that work is infinite. So fixing the economy is a function of redistributing a FINITE amount of work across many workers, not a few.
And not only is work finite, but it SHRINKS over time as an economy becomes more productive.
This has been known for almost 100 years, Henry Ford introduced the 40-hour workweek in 1928 for these reasons. Henry Ford is hardly a communist, he was simply a capitalist who could THINK, unlike the great majority of today's capitalists who are too stupid to realize that if they destroy the pay of their workers, they also destroy their customers.
