Come see live video of asteroid 2004 BL86 1-26-15! *Thanks for watching!
If the weather permits me to, I will do a live webcast of the asteroid as it heads away from earth tonight at 9pm eastern time (02:00 UT). The asteroid will be quite bright at about magnitude 9; still too dim to see by eye, but quite bright to a good telescope. Unlike a lot of the other webcasts that are available of this object, the camera I'm using is a single-shot color device and I'll be keeping the camera in its full resolution color mode, so hopefully we can see if the asteroid has any kind of color to it.

The clear sky clock weather forecast is clear, but right now there are some clouds present that don't really fit with the forecast so we'll see. The asteroid will be high above the horizon throughout the night though, so I have high hopes that we'll be able to see it.

*Due to clouds and wind I'm pushing the start time back to 10:30 pm eastern, but will continue webcasting it until about 1 am.

**Update, 9:20pm, still too windy at primary observing location, falling back to secondary location. Expect to start by 11.

Going to start the webcast while I set up:

Biggest concern with weather right now is mainly the wind. It's blowing like crazy right now. Will work on my options for tonight.

Currently 141 azimuth, 36 degrees high from Greenwhich Observatory. It'll be visible throughout the night, peaking at about 47 degrees altitude at 01:00 UT. See the above finder chart.
