Michelle Obama forgoes a headscarf and sparks a backlash in Saudi Arabia Barack Obama was in Riyadh on Tuesday to pay his respects to the late Saudi King Abdullah. His visit, for which he cut short a much-hyped trip to India, underscores how important the U.S.-Saudi relationship remains to the American leadership. On social media, however, much of the attention has focused on something else: His wife's attire. [ link to www.washingtonpost.com] Good for her ! I hope she does not kneel or bow to the queen either. You are what other countries call, "The Ugly American." Ignorant and uneducated. You give the rest of us, who have respect for other cultures and customs, a bad name. The president and his wife are ugly Americans, unfortunately....an embarrassment. By the way, the queen does not expect anyone to bow or kneel to her! lol
