Dude was James Bond for goodness sakes but look at his wife Quoting: Anonymous Coward 37198021 [link to images.starpulse.com] She was very pretty thirteen years ago when he married her, but she is now (at least according to the photos) obese. The same thing happened to my sister who married a VERY handsome man, and they have been together for 20 years now. I think it shows a great deal of character and depth in a person to look beyond the physical into his (or her) partner's soul and value him/her for other, more important qualities. Maybe there is a REASON why some women (or men) gain weight, and they truly cannot help it. Should their partners leave them for only that reason? I don't think so. (And, just btw, I am a size 6.) |

My wife looked like Susanna Hoffs from the Bangles. She's gained some weight over the years, but I don't care. Still as beautiful as the day I married her. Threads like this have about as much depth as inflatable kid's pool. |

She limits herself to about 1,200 calories a day, but she still can't lose weight. Well, maybe she would if she actually almost starved herself! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 58700537 United States 01/28/2015 01:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Today no attractive man is going to bother marrying an ugly woman. There are not many rich women left who are not, by this point in time, already worked over on the surgeon’s table two or three times, and who have improved their looks to the point where they are at a MINIMUM considered “striking” and “gorgeous” and some achieve real beauty via the surgical route. The truly pitiful ones are those who are still ugly after spending a fortune on surgery, and are too dumb or too delusional to know it. The Dutchess of Alba was such a person. The Wolfenstein woman is another. Donatello Versace is one of those unfortunates, too. They are pitiful and while they cannot get a decent husband, they seem willing to content themselves with spending their money and going out and celebrating their empty and vapid little lives. I guess it makes them happy so who are any of us to judge? |

If she is overweight and not losing weight, cutting calories even further will not "starve" her. If she really really wanted to lose it she probably could. Things like water aerobics and riding a bicycle are zero impact. You can't expect to do a marathon the day you start, but a few minutes daily with gradual increases would do a lot for her. It's important to have even a small amount of exercise to keep blood flowing and supply cells with oxygen, a sedentary lifestyle will be a short one. to you and your family |

You can help motivate her plus you'd be forming a new bond. Once she sees results and that working out doesn't have to be work she may be more likely to continue. Kudos to you for not losing respect for her. Most women can't just drop weight like men can, especially after having children, it really does alter your body for life. |
