Quoting: The Joker Resolution 008610, signed by General-in-Chief and Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López, establishes the “use of force, with a firearm or any other potentially lethal weapon” as the last resort to “prevent disorder, support the legitimately constituted authority, and counter all aggression, immediately confronting it with the necessary measures.” Article 68 of the Constitution, however, stipulates: “The use of firearms and toxic substances to control peaceful demonstrations is prohibited.” Read more: [link to panampost.com] The "colour" or "spring" revolutions, don´t seem to work as expected around the globe. |

The U.S. government views it as a win either way: If the Venezualan government does not use lethal force then the government is toppled (ala Ukraine), and if it does use lethal force then it is still considered a propaganda victory for the U.S. - "LOOK AT WHAt THIS HORRIBLE GOVERNMENT DID!" The people who get mowed down are just foreign policy pawns and collateral damage in their eyes. SAD. |

Some sanctions but nothing too strong. The country imports like +95% of what it consumes, an outrageous number. In the years that they had a good cash inflow they did nothing to build a manufacturing and agricultural base, just spending on "social justice". |
