Tecumseh Quote on Ownership Of Land.
No tribe has the right to sell, even to each other, much less to strangers... Sell a country! Why not sell the air, the great sea, as well as the earth? Didn't the Great Spirit make them all for the use of his children?
The way, the only way to stop this evil is for the red man to unite in claiming a common and equal right in the land, as it was first, and should be now, for it was never divided. We gave them forest-clad mountains and valleys full of game, and in return what did they give our warriors and our women? Rum, trinkets, and a grave.

It really seems so simple, and should be simple. Once we begin on the unnatural path of ownership of land and resources, things progress in an unnatural way, until lo and behold, we reach a point (such as right now) where the few "own" more than the rest combined. Then, the society collapses, and there is anarchy and lots of people die.

New republics arise, and things get better, until the cycle of ownership begins anew. The only way to overcome this cycle of death is to be like the "redman," and consider nature in a natural way: not to be owned, but for the benefit of all.

Oh, and I'm not against ownership; the money you made, the land you live on or farm. It's just when things get to the point of owning countries, water, the air?

I love that. He was such an enigma and very wise. He even predicted his own death the day he died. Apparently, the Americans were fearful of him. He seemed almost supernatural to them.

Re: Tecumseh Quote on Ownership Of Land.
Man is not eternal. Eternal Nature
Weaves her web; man's stature
Allows participation in Her plan.
And yet we know that every man
Must someday die by Nature's hand.
He hardly understands. This is his lot:
Nature lives forever, man does not.

Man, not by nature eternal,
Weaves his webs, and plots infernal
Designs, thwarting Nature at every turn.
He poisons the Earth, and forests burn.
The Earth is sacred, but we never learn.
Realize if you would profit from life's journey:
Man's eternity is to be a part of Eternity.

Cycles begin and end. Our problem is that when we get to be numerous, we always come to this pyramid scheme of ownership. The half-discovered tribes in the Amazon may be the only ones exempt...

Thing is, the only thing that can save our society is the same thing that could almost destroy it; a crash.

Tecumseh's Curse: Presidents elected in a year ending in a zero would die in office.

Oh and I see that since Reagan survived, some consider the curse to be broken.

Re: Tecumseh Quote on Ownership Of Land.
My personal view on the ownership of land:

It is perfectly ok to own things, whether this be goods, or money; even the fiat money we have today. If you have earned your land, and are living on it or working it, that also is right.

It is when these filthy rich individuals, corporates, and governments (is there really any difference these days?) own almost everything, to the point where you and me are really just slaves, that I have to dispute the concept of ownership. When these entities (an entity can be a person or family) own more than the rest combined, things not only need to change, they WILL change.

Are you living from paycheck to paycheck while the leader of your company is flying to his private island in his private jet? The time to invert the pyramid is now!

Well, perhaps wait for the pyramid to become even more unstable...

YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE! YOU ARE A HUMAN BEING!

I don't think so, but think he would have cursed anything that led to the system we have now.

What honorable and true man has NOT cursed the President?

But behaving like a good neighbor or hero, is different than being President.

But, land, well, hippies and "low lifes" typically bring and leave, trash.

Do indians haul it out? My experience says yes, yes they do.

Tecumseh accurately predicted the New Madrid quake of 1811.

This is documented not only through oral tradition, but in writing by a white Indian agent before the quake(s)
