Look at the best pic Hubble could get, not very good, and that's Hubble. And could somebody please explain to me WHY CAN'T Hubble get detailed pics of our Planets? Anonymous Coward User ID: 67277640 Canada 02/03/2015 06:12 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | dull pic as always when Ceres is concerned... the other only pic is interesting when contrast is increased a little... lot of blue and land mass kinda raw from nasa. add contrast, some saturation... and it's another planet... [link to solarsystem.nasa.gov (secure)] I don't know. Both pics leave a lot to the imagination. I suppose if there was anything of a mindblowing nature there then DAWN would probably not have made it this close. Still the pic you put up makes it look like the wee planet might have already been mined extensively. There is always something interesting and new about each large body we explore. Like the dunes on that comet or asteroid. That was wild looking. Maybe Ceres is an abandoned space station. Smithy |

They named them, maybe there were the others around, who knew and told them. Quoting: Daughter Or maybe back then the air was not as polluted as it is nowadays and there was no extraneous light and people could just see a lot more stuff. "The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

One of the first places I would travel to in a time machine is Earth's distant past. For the stars and enormous trees and to unravel the mysteries of early civilizations. Smithy |
granitehouse (OP) User ID: 65218348 United States 02/04/2015 08:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | These pictures were taken around 150,000 KM and the spacecraft's ultimate goal is to settle at an orbit of just 375KM where it will remain, so we should get some great pictures. Quoting: Sholomar Vesta has already been imaged. [link to en.wikipedia.org] It was cool that DAWN got to survey Vesta, but Vesta's features are kind of dull compared to Ceres. The white spot resembles the Death Star's Death Beam Depression/Crater. Is it possible that Ceres is a supply depot for ships transitioning from inner to outer solar system? Might it be doppleganger storage? When the Lord arrives and resurrects all the wonderful people of Earth, the clones of the dead could be brought in from Ceres. Smithy |
