OP - I saw the movie and it was very lightweight - really it was a chick flick romance movie. It was geared towards introducing people to bdsm, because the bdsm implications were so naive, it made me cringe.

So, the whole thing about it being so badass, is bullshit and only for marketing of the movie, which they did very well.

If you are well versed in this type of sex play, don't waste your money at the movie theater to see it - just wait till it's on Netflix.

I kind of like the idea of consenting adults having some fun...lol. Not a problem for me. And, fyi, I don't watch beheading or burning videos, I'll take their word for it.

The point that most people are failing to emote is the programming that this trend inspires. The book was promoted to death. I'd hear it advertised at the drugstore intercom, in their book section. Everyone was hooked on it. Everyone started to think about these topics, which gets a lot of people hot and bothered. The taboo is often the most intriguing and BDSM has been mostly taboo among the mainstream. it was the worst movie i've ever seen, no plot, no point, no entertainment. We can only see so many niples and so many bushes before it's terribly boring.
