Quoting: stripper Orphanage 16070247 I would think that, without an atmosphere to filter, that sun shining through the window would mean instant death. We terrestrial humans are advised to keep out of the sun on a sunny day, but in a supposedly vacuum, the sun's radiation seems to be of little significance. So for me it's one of these options: 1) The ISS isn't really in space and we're being lied about it. 2) The Sun and/or Space isn't what we are told it is. And we are again being lied about it. Best guess is both options are true. The things we are supposed to know about our direct space-enviroment and what humans supposed to have achieved in that same space, contradict each other on every reasonable aspect and it only makes me more confident that literally everything we're fed from outside of our own thoughts has every reason for scrutiny. The answer is pretty much right in your modern house, should you live in the US or a Western country. Major HVAC systems on the ISS, along with polarized/filtered windows, recycled atmosphere, filtering, etc. Don't forget insulation in the hulls, for both radiation and heat/cold. |

When the AC failed on Skylab, caused by the damaged solar cell array, the temperature raised to 50°C. That was in the 1970s when space stations had much larger volume of each segment and almost luxury living quarters and bathrooms conpared to the ISS. |
