As many as eight people have been killed in a restaurant shooting in the town of Uhersky Brod in the southwest of the Czech Republic, local media report.

Czech Interior Ministry said eight people have been killed in the shooting, CTK news agency reported.

The gunman reportedly opened fire indiscriminately after storming into the pub, firing off around two dozen rounds. One witness who was in the restroom at the time of the attack said that some 20 people were on the premises, according to Czech Television.
