BREAKING: Al Sharpton, NAN Just Responded to O'Keefe Video in the Most Self-Aggrandizing Way Possible

"On Tuesday night, NewsOne (a self-proclaimed “destination for news and information for and about Blacks in America”) ran an “exclusive” with statements from Erica Garner, Eric Garner’s mother (Gwen Carr) and Garner’s widow (Esaw Snipes-Garner).

The problem? The statements are outwardly self-promoting and obscenely self-aggrandizing pieces of propaganda from Sharpton’s National Action Network. They make no attempt to mask his intentions or to combat the claims that O’Keefe’s video unveiled. If anything, they confirmed them.

I’m not exactly a communications or public relations expert, but if my organization was taking a hit in the media because members of victims’ families were accusing me of being in it for myself, my organization, and the money, the last thing I would do is release a statement from my organization on their behalf that contains such bullshit and self-promotion."
