Producing military enlistment videos in US while providing ISIS with Land Cruisers? Toyota has been pushing these creepy weird commercials on TV. It starts as a sentimental montage of a "classic american dad" raising his pretty american daughter through her childhood and teens. The narrator of the commercial then says, "and one day she will probably have to serve, it's her patriotic duty!", or some shit- while the dad is dropping her off at the airport all misty-eyed, hugging her goodbye in the Toyota Camry, sending her off to war with her camouflage back-pack on. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68300482 I am not arguing against military enlistment marketing or commercials, it has been happening forever - they have always used emotions and duty as a psychological tool to get you to enlist - but I am wondering this: why the fuck is Toyota, a Japanese company, playing on US military family emotions to market their shitty cars and trucks? It is a Japanese headquartered, international corporation - is it not? Then what business do they have inserting propaganda or using emotions, basically pushing their own enlistment propaganda every 10 minutes on every television station? Does Toyota produce and pay for similar commercials in the japanese market? Do they show young Japanese men and women hugging ol' ma and pa goodbye in the Toyota camry before going off to fight in a war? Oh, they don't fight in wars? Are not the vehicles we see ISIS and other terrorist organizations driving 2014 Toyota SUV and trucks? So you're saying, somewhere down the line, even remotely, that Japan is not profiting from or even playing both sides of various conflict? You know this sappy kind of shit, even on TV commercials, and especially between dads and their daughters, gets the sheeps' emotions every time - never asking, "who benefits from this type of sappy marketing? Why are they targeting our family ties and our patriotic sense of duty? Why is Toyota spending millions of dollars to play commercials of Military enlistment every 10 minutes on US television? Why is ISIS all driving Toyotas? Why wouldn't Japan just not sell the toyotas to the terrorists and then the American dads wouldn't have to drop their daughters off in the Camry to go fight them?" It's called CAPITALISM. Quite bitching or join the side that takes it down. |

You have to look at this from the perspective of the company and their marketing campaign. It's obvious, Toyota knows ISIS is primarily using their vehicles on and off the front line. ISIS has spread this all over social media in their many videos as a show off of their power and funding. Give thought to how this looks on a Public Relations level for Toyota. This may not be mainstream knowledge since it doesn't seem to be reported by MSM, but I can guarantee you that it's enough for Toyota to want to preemptively reinforce the idea that Toyota is Pro American, Pro Freedom etc. before the idea gets spread around that Toyota is affiliated with a terrorist organization or supports terrorism. The U.S. is such a massive market for Toyota, if either of those viewpoints of Toyota was ever given serious thought, imagine what that would do to the company as a whole. It would severely cripple Toyota, and how do you remove that stain? Anyone ever buy Firestone tires anymore? Didn't think so... |

US soldiers would watch IBM trucks and other US manufacturers or US allies sending war supplies to the North to be used against US soldiers. War is manufactured, there are many "investors".
