...I thought the title was just "All is Lost"?dead2
 Quoting: Dace

9teen For those who refuse to believe on Jesus Christ that's true enough. But any Christian who's half awake should be able to see what's coming.

Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
 Quoting: Judethz

I suppose that you could read some "spiritual" connotation
into the script of the movie "All Is Lost," Judethz, such as it pointing to the end scene were a hand reaches INTO
THE WATER to draw Redford up into the lifeboat from his
drowning situation. THAT could be seen as "the hand of God."

But I really don't see that as being intentional as there would have been at least one piece of dialogue--or a camera pan of some religious object, such as a cross on the desk where his computer sits, where Redford prays, or exclaims: "Jesus Christ!" (like some people do when they are facing a terrible challenge as he's going through.)

He doesn't even sign off on his "message in a bottle" note
other than just saying: "I'm sorry."(transcription of this whole note is Posted in the 2nd paragraph above.)
Anything spiritual, like "God Bless you" or..."I'm in God's hands Now" is offered in the script--it is actually totally SANITIZED from any religious affiliation. So you can see
by watching the actual film that there is nothing pointing
the audience to anything spiritual.

It just IS what it IS...a natural disaster and an old man
fighting for his life (without prayer or references to what
his spiritual beliefs might have been!

I think that is deliberate, Judithz... especially since if we are to look into the numerology message Redford would know that many religions frown on numerology. So, he couldn't by logic HAVE A SPIRITUAL MESSAGE in the film and hide anything he wants to give us clues about in a context of numerology...
See what I mean? So...NO...I have to disagree with you on
this one! There is NO "deceptive doctrine" offered, either in this thread nor in the movie script for you to get anyone's panties in a bunch over! It's devoid of religion.
Thanks for your post and info, however. It IS very
timely and I do ascribe to it.
