I had MRSA a few times, they put me on a vancomycin drip and it never returned once I made some life style changes
( I quit using dope, I would get MRSA from shooting up )
The bactrim in the nose is preventative, but I would encourage you to sterlize anything and everything that touches your body that could be carrying the infection on it still.
Like tweezers, or nail clippers.
