I did meet Miles Davis once, backstage before a concert. I said "Mr. Davis?" He said "Don't ask me no questions". Well, thinking on my feet as I was going to ask him a question for advice he could give to an aspiring trumpet player, I said "Being the great man that you are, I just wanted to shake your hand". He said "I don't want to shake your hand". I was soon escorted out of the green room. As I was leaving, I looked back and he was giving an African American reporter a high five and grinning at me. HaHaHaHa!! |
