So, you think we simply have inaccurate memories? Oh, OK. Sure.

They were always BERENSTAIN! I was born in 1978 and have been literate ever since and I have always known they were Berenstain! No fuck these fucking bears and let's move on to more important matters, like that sonmvabitching two toned dress!

Stein is German not Jewish.

And I never paid any attention to how that name was spelled. I would have guessed Bernsteine, so whatever. I've always been indifferent to the spelling of proper names because they are not "real words," in my mind.

Those were ugly and obnoxious bears anyway.

It's these types of things that keep me up at night.

Then why the heck do most people have a natural tendency to pronounce it as "steen"? It was Berenstine in my universe. I am certain of that.
