Help! Went to Doctor with perceived mental illness and told my mind was leaving space-time continuum!
So while I was going to school in my mid twenties, I started to get strong sensations of what I described as "Deja Vu on steroids".

I've experienced Deja Vu as a kid. But this was something much greater than that.

If I would see something like an image /video, or read something, or (on rare occasions hear spoken words), I would get this strong sensation that was like I had an inappropriate familiarity with what I was perceiving. Like I saw this before but was also supposed to see it or hear it.

Oddly enough, later when I recalled whatever triggered the sensation, the thing I read, saw or heard, the sensation would trigger again.

There was no pattern to when they would occur.

I chalked the experiences up to early onset of some mental illness and went to see the local doctor. I described to him basically what I just described to right.

He looked at me in awe and told me my mind was venturing in and out of the Space-time continuum! Then he started talking about quantum theory...

Wtf!?

Right. Are doctors now diagnosing quantum related conditions or something?

Does anyone else have any type of experience with this type of situation?

It sounds like you are describing the feeling associated with experiencing synchronicities....

Like a sensation of amplified/enhanced alertness coupled with a full-body, resonating feeling... Also, your state of awareness intensifies and becomes completely synced with the present moment and the circumstances which triggered it....

Thanks you for that term!. I just Googled
synchronicities, I got this article on synchronicity.

[link to medium.com (secure)]

This general description is what I seem to experience every day!

"Examples of synchronicity would be a random conversation between passersby that appear to address your own inner questions; sequences of events that completely escape a daily routine and lead you to unexpected new circumstances; or a music in the radio that accompanies a unique moment you’re living. Events that occur and co-incide together, related by meaning rather than ‘visible’ cause."

"You’ll observe that the real frequency at which seemingly unlikely events happen in life far exceeds the ‘theoretical’, statistical probability of their occurrence, from the perspective that reality is entirely random."
----------------------------------------------

That's the daily stuff I experience. But the things I described in my original post are MUCH stronger sensations.

When I went to the Doctor I was expecting a diagnosis of Schizophrenia or something. ( I was actually comforted by that idea). I was blown away and freaked out by the Doctors claim that my mind leaving the space-time continuum. d

All this stuff is new to me. And I am not sure I can accept it. It's against me religious beliefs to get into this new age/occult stuff and I am not sure why it is happening to me when I don't seek them out nor want the experiences.

I am not saying that my mind is leaving the space-time continuum.

But yes, I do expect you to believe that the doctor told me that it was and that this was someone how related to quantum mechanics and theory (which I didn't understand nor do I believe).

Man you are so lucky!
You're getting the reverse of what most people I know get when they talk about Strange phenomena with their quacks.
I knew someone who got binned for saying he could see UFOs.
Just out of curiosity, did you get a sense of deja vu wehn you had this experience?

What WOLF pointed out, what seem to be called as synchronicites are a daily occurrence. Not just seeing but feeling connections. This has been really helpful in my former job as it allowed me to solve for "x" to figure things, and uncover facts that were hidden. It felt like minor Déjà vu. I convinced myself it was a form of OCD or something and didn't think anything of it because it was helpful.

But what I went to the doctor for were the intense sensations I started experiencing. I'd randomly get them when I would hear newscasts of current events or read certain articles from alternative sites like zerohedge. I research something online without any purpose other then my own curiosity and feel it.

When these strong sensations were triggered, it freaked me out. The intensity of them seemed like Déjà vu seizures and I worried they might be bad for my health or a bad mental health indicator.

Interesting theory on Deju

But there are things I could not have possible experienced before that I have gotten a trigger from experience the first time.

Re: Help! Went to Doctor with perceived mental illness and told my mind was leaving space-time continuum!
Other strange things have happened as well.

I was sitting at a conference table with my (then) boss waiting for a client.

The client comes in shakes my boss hand and I swear says something about my then boss having an affair with a women in town.

My boss was busting my balls about some things and so I snidely brought the affair at lunch with him and my other boss.

They both freaked out. "How did I know this"? It was some secret.

Unless I was reading his thoughts, I was sure I heard the client verbally say this to my boss. (though thinking about my boss express no reaction and client meeting continued which is odd)

But things like this have happen way too often. I'll repeat something which I thought was publicly spoken, and people look at me with amazement and fear as to how I know these things.

I remember having deja vu as a kid too.

Strangest one of all was sept 10, when I couldn't shake a very bad feeling all day.

No crap, just felt something bad was gonna happen.

My father in law was driving to North Jersey the next day to fly with his friend to the Reno air races in his piper cub.

He got stuck on the njtpk all day.

I never said anything, cause I didn't want my mother in law to get worried about him flying.

All little things when I was younger though, but there was a lot of instances.
