According to ABC affiliate WFAA, witnesses told police that a group of men randomly started firing a gun and some nearby cars were also hit.

uh.....I double-checked the link just now, and it goes right to the story which tells only what I wrote - nothing about others' behaviour which could have remotely justified the police shooting a completely innocent man taking pictures of falling snow.
Actually, I wouldn't care if a gang of useless eaters was nearby throwing McD wrappers everywhere or shooting at people who earn an honest living. THIS GUY was completely innocent, and cops aren't supposed to be doing this crap for a hobby. They're supposed to be professionals who can tell the difference between criminal behaviour and enjoying your first snowfall with your wife.
