'Ancient statues' destroyed by ISIS in Mosul were fakes
[link to www.dailymail.co.uk]

'Ancient' statues filmed being destroyed by depraved Islamic State militants in a Mosul museum last month were nothing more than worthless fakes, the director of an Iraqi museum has claimed.

The terrorist organisation released shocking footage at the end of February purportedly showing jihadis destroying 3,000-year-old artworks with sledgehammers in their northern Iraqi stronghold.

But now Baghdad museum director Fawzye al-Mahdi has ridiculed ISIS' propaganda exercise, claiming the genuine priceless Assyrian and Akkadian statues and sculptures are still safely in his possession in the Iraqi capital, adding that those in Mosul were plaster cast replicas.

No shit. Granite doesn't shatter in single blow with a tiny man holding a five pound hammer. It's just more mundane, see through, childish nonsense done with crisis actors.

However, after this is settled. It's a promise that all of those actors and their handlers will learn how to break real rocks for a couple of decades in a quarry somewhere. They are hopefully in shape for their new careers as mining 'consultants'. Two squares a day, all the water they can drink and a nice soft dirt floor to sleep on for decades. No need for a gym membership or a cellphone either, all the social interaction and heavy lifting will be right there in the quarry. No need to worry about money either, they will work because they just like it.

For them, it is the gift of paradise that they obviously wanted. Fresh air, exercise and never needing to worry about the details of the modern world.
