Paying college athletes: good / bad?

There has been a lot of talk lately about paying college athletes. I'm curious what your options are. Good idea? Bad idea? I tend to be of the belief that most college athletes have about as much sense as potato. A lot of them still rely on mom to even do their damn laundry and we want to make them 18 years old millionaires and drop them in the middle of a college campus. Seems like nothing but a distraction. Besides, college is for learning, chasing girls, drinking in the mornings and doing lots of drugs.

This will ruin college sports. At least for me, I will stop watching.
