Contrary to your statement, Y'isra'el isn't the only ME country... PAKISTAN already has them AND SAUDI ARABIA has recently voiced their desire to obtain them and did so WITHOUT receiving any objections from Y'isra'el. The only country that ALMOST ALL OF THE MIDDLE EAST objects to having them is IRAN. And that is because of their YEARS of threats to obtain them SO THEY MAY USE THEM. It isn't JUST Y'isra'el who objects. But SHE is the CURRENT object of Irans' promise of destruction. The NPT banned nuclear weapons for everyone but 5 nations. It doesn't matter how many countries have them in the middle east and Asia. They shouldn't. Iran has as much a right to nuclear weapons as Israel, Pakistan, and India. And that is absolutely no right whatsoever as long as that Treaty is in force. And since so many have broken it and those that have practically flaunt it, the treaty really should just be abolished, unless the UN will sanction or use military force to uphold everyone to the same equal standards on this. Like it or not, that's exactly what's fair and just in this situation. Nobody needs nuclear weapons, and if you think someone should have a genocidal weapon like that for any reason, whether it's the US, Russia, Israel, Iran, or whomever, that's just ridiculous, and the fact that we selectively enforce the NPT is really what makes this entire situation so damn messy. |
