The funds are there if they would stop funding known terrorist organizations, foreign nations and lining their pockets before they intentionally crash the system. As for the waste it can be recycled to make building materials for low income housing and building materials for new desalination plants. |

But as an example. For every 10 gallons of sea water, there would be 1 1/2 gallons of fresh water. There also isn't existing facilities. Then again, on the flip side, building several up and down the coast would give lots of people jobs. Another things is, once evaporation is done, there would be tonnes of salt waste to store and dispose of. Would not be very energy green to run the facilities. In this day an age of being non wasteful and green. And finally, Cali has plenty of water for the people. It's the agricultural that's using up all the water. Like almond farms. They take so much water to grow the trees, that in turn produce very little product. Compared to a huge lettuce farm. I think we can go without almonds for the grater good. If almond farms shut down, that would be like enough water for a million people to use for people, not goods. Fuck the Almond industry. I choked on one once you know. -Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |

Fukishima has destroyed the pacific. It matters not at this point that cali is going dry. Its biblical and cali cannot escape the poisoned water that men die for drinking, nor will they escape the earthquakes coming. Just put you faith in Jesus Christ. There is nothing more. |

Others would be glad to have a job. A public works project for water instead of free checks. Imagine that. Quoting: Punk-A$$ets The problem is, those receiving welfare would not be able to complete the task. They would be lazy, and unskilled. Can you imagine these retards constructing advanced desalination plants to service the needs of over 30 million people? Would be a great idea, if they weren't so fucking useless. My guess is you wouldn't even be able to get them to properly grill a burger at mcdonalds... |

There is no sense in people not having enough water. Its expensive yes but no alternatives for water. If we could build railroads across the country 150+ years ago we can lay pipes and build pumping stations today. Work out the issues. |

The funds exist, but they are being siphoned off to special interest groups. Singapore is the cleanest most high-tech country with high-speed rail and desalination and only pays 7% income tax and NO capital gains tax. Guess how much more we pay in taxes for shit? If CA was run like Singapore we would have had high-speed rail and desalination 10-20 years ago. It's not, it's run by a bunch of liberal crooks with last names like Garcia and Dominguez. |
