Raye User ID: 68855665 United States 04/17/2015 01:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | wasnt it the NDAA that gave the gov powers to take over anyone's food, transportation, supplies, etc.? What if the gov is taking these walmarts for the Jade helm exercise? As supply centers, or other strategic measures? Walmart or the gov wouldn't want to say this is for the exercise. It would wake up too many people that the gov, by law (not constitutionally, imo), can take over whatever you have. Anonymous Coward User ID: 66325229 United States 04/17/2015 01:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok, folks here is some food for thought, no pun intended. It is Wal-Mart's regional warehouse distribution centers that are contractually affiliated with FEMA and DHS. If there is an anticipated call upon their stocks and logistics, then plans have to be made to accommodate that call. So if you reduce the number of stores dependent on that distribution system, you free up stocks for other purposes or a possible anticipated event. Wal-Mart has perfected warehouse distribution and logistics. That is why the U.S. government wants to use their in-place system. Now, here is the question, 'What is coming down the pike that the U.S. government will need the supplies and stocks that would normally ship out to these moth-balled stores?' That is what is really in play here. Wal-Mart has contracts with all sorts of vendors that they depend on for continuous steady stream delivery. There has been no word as of yet from the Wal-Mart suppliers of disrupted delivery schedules. Keep digging, it will become more clear as we go along. |

There's plenty of vacant malls and large stores/buildings throughout the U.S. to accommodate anything sinister that the government has planned. I lean more towards a Walmart/union issue. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67314757 I pointed out in another thread that by using Walmart, they could have trained at an already empty one. Then by using wamarts, they already know the layout and can be dumped in any Walmart and know exactly what to do. Using other empty buildings, they would have to get contracts with who knows how many different corps, have unique layouts. Knowing the territory adds to the speed with which they (training operatives) can be set up. In and set up before anyone knows what's going on. Are there walmarts in Iran, I wonder? Serious question. And the exits/entries are known, and basically no windows. I am not spreading fear. Just trying to figure out what is going on. My opinion so far is gov has taken over these walmarts for their exercise. OR it is MOLD in the stores. Many lawsuits would be filed if workers had been coming down sick, and it was due to mold. Walmart would NOT say mold, they would say plumbing issues. I am female, as was the first kitten, Raye, I helped bring into this world and had the treasure of giving her love for 7 1/2 short years. Anonymous Coward User ID: 66342586 United States 04/17/2015 02:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | IF any of this is true, it may be to facilitate underground storage facilities as a deterrent to looting. Once our debit, credit and EBT cards stop working, things will get ugly fast. IF the underground stuff is more than storage and actually includes tunnels (which is unlikely), it might be to avoid having Walmart trucks hijacked. I will say that Walmart has spent the last two years converting an old Target building in N. Long Beach CA to a Walmart facility. I know they spent a considerable amount of time and effort digging out the original loading docks and putting in new docks that are about 15' lower and surrounded by block walls that are higher than the container trailers. When you consider that businesses need to get a return on all invested capital, lowering loading docks sure doesn't seem like a smart allocation of capital. Another notable is that Walmart is now offering banking services (checking accounts). Since most taxpayers are fully leverage, what happens to the 9,000 commercial banks whose primary product is not in demand (debt). It is easy to see that with a collapse in derivatives (traded on margin by the commercial banks, the losses of which are covered by our deposits), the TBTF are put in receivership by the FDIC (and depositors take a hair cut; see the Dec 2012 FDIC/Bank of England report) and the majority of state and local banks are closed. All we need to do is have a way to get to our local Walmart agency for banking, food, clothing, etc. Keep in mind in that in the U.S. the propaganda is so extreme that even our bull shit is bull shit, so who knows what may or may not happen. However, I can't help but to wonder if the 25% flood insurance hike by FEMA is to really fund other needs such as the above scenario. |

The Årtist User ID: 44124412 United States 04/17/2015 02:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There are many stores, even newer ones, that are posting signs about renovations. There are some stores that have gotten sudden deliveries of shipping containers. The stores that are going for the long term closures are ones located within a few miles or so of multiple other Walmarts and, from what I can gather are the Flagship store in the area. We also know Walmart doesn't give two shits about their employees. I predict this is a major re imaging move. I think they are doing a top secret renovation rebranding of their identity. The lesser stores are hiring temp employees to to the work while they remain open, but the bigger Flagship stores are getting the whole sha-bang rework, thus closing the stores for months. The timing on this rebranding / remodeling / reimaging is perfectly timed as well. Six months from now is October... Just in time for holiday shopping season. Since the work will take months and they want to keep the whole marketing thing a secret, for now, it's too long to keep current employees in limbo, and since Walmart doesn't care about employees they're just going to let them go. Even the packages they've offered them is well beyond what I would have thought they'd do. Now, take all this confusion, questioning, and massive media coverage that's building this huge narrative of "What the heck is Walmart up to?" It's huge publicity.. and free publicity. There will be a bit of a backlash, initially, about the lost jobs, but that will disappear when they rehire on re-grand openings, if I'm correct. It's kind of brilliant in some weird way. Walmart is generally a go to place for many in the conspiracy circles because it's your one stop shop for everything, water to bullets, food to survival gear, it's all there. So by keeping the whole thing a guerrilla marketing scheme with a plumbing cover story, everyone gets involved with the narrative, the conspiracy preppers to the mainstream media, everyone is talking about it. I can really see Walmart doing this and I feel everything fits into place for what I'm saying. In summation: Flagship Stores closed for major overhaul. Smaller stores renovated as well but not closed. This will offer a teaser of what's to come. Weird cover story to create a "buzz" about Walmart on mainstream media, social, conspiracy, everywhere. A guerrilla marketing blitz. Re-grand openings with new hiring with new, higher, wages. Re openings just in time for the Holiday shopping season. Will be tied to a major advertising blitz, "The New Walmart" or something like that. Be on the look out for creepy behind the scenes "secret" footage from those working on the remodel to be "leaked" on social media to keep the buzz going. RAGE |

User ID: 58208170 United States 04/17/2015 02:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why (whhhyyyyy) would Walmart lose all this money? 5 hrs to close? They had to sell all of their produce / meat deeply discounted, fight with pharmacy customers, pay out their noses to their employees.. for what? To "send a message to unions"? To "cut their losses"? Quoting: monica6269 No. If they wanted to do that, they'd have done it in a manner that saved them the most money. They are Walmart. You know what they love? Money. All the money. Always. This happened FAST. This cost them a LOT. So, as far as I am concerned, any theory that involves the store closing without acknowledging the 5 hr window.. is not valid. What ever it is, it is happening NOW. Makes me wonder if they're getting compensated down the road. I've read they're losing upwards of $100m over the 6 months. Uncle Sam isn't concerned with reimbursing Wally $100 million. That amount would barely pay for 2 of Mooche's vacations. Besides, as far as Uncle Sam is concerned, "Taxpayer Money" REALLY means "Free Money" to spend on whatever. So, Governmentally speaking, who even CARES how much will be spent to re-imburse WalMart?
