These people have something we in our modern civilization lack. They have a cohesive Society. Societies have been the foundation since the inception of human beings.

Ultimately, rather than a global hegemony, we may see the demise of civilization as a whole. A return to much smaller groups of people held together as societies may be closer on the horizon than the estimated 60-thousand odd years of this particular one.

It really doesn't matter how many years this society has existed. What matters is its continuance.

Personally, I'm more interested in what happened in the earlier times of interactions with "civilized" man. It appears as if earlier interactions were fraught with strife for everyone involved.
