Whatever you do, don't drive in the dust, it will ruin your engine eventually. I had this happen from Mt. St. Helens!!!

Pinatubo erupted, a lot of people put a few layers of pantyhose over the air filter to catch the finer ash. They had to change them out pretty regularly, but it seemed to work.
