Advice Please On What Handgun & Where To Buy
I could really use some advice on what kind of handgun I should buy, and where do I get one these days? I don't know anything about them.

I'm having a problem with a neighbor that has gotten me concerned that I may need to get something to protect myself.

Thanks

Do you want an automatic or revolver? If you're concerned about stopping your neighbor you should purchase a .357 revolver, as it has less chance of jamming like an automatic.

I've already done that.

I don't want to bring up all the garbage of what's going on. I'm dealing with a very irrational couple who I feel may try something and I want to protect myself.

But Op is a female and apparently inexperienced with handguns... and if you limp-wrist a Glock they'll stovepipe notoriously.

I suggest a revolver to start out Op, unless you're going to get some training (which I also HIGHLY suggest)... a 38 is compact enough to carry in your purse & has decent stopping power.

If you're going to get training, then yeah, a Glock is a great gun.

i would say a 38 special revoler until you learn more about guns. You have to squeeze the trigger every time for a shot and wont have a accident with controling it going of shooting three or four shots and if you do with a revolver it shows there was fear if it has to go to court. my wife has a lady lavender by charter arms it made to fit a womens hand but take a course at your local shooting range.

Re: Advice Please On What Handgun & Where To Buy
Before you buy a handgun, you should find out what you can handle, first.

Find a gun shop with a range, and attend a training class. They'll let you handle and fire a whole range of stuff, while teaching you the proper way to use it.

A hand cannon will likely just get you killed. Reality isn't like the movies.

I prefer something small and light, myself, easily concealable with a fast reload capability. Just keep in mind that the smaller the weapon, the less accurate it is going to be.

Look I ain't sayin shit about specifics

But

For quick clip release it depends on thumb dexterity and reach. That's one major issue.

It is pretty pointless to buy a gun anymore. If you use it you will end up regretting it because you will be made to be the criminal. I would just move if I were you.

You hit that right, I am inexperienced with handguns and thought I would never be in a situation like this.

I like the idea of something compact so I can hide it.

Thanks, I appreciate your help!

Whatever you decide on, take the time & pay the extra bucks to learn how to use it.

Hire an instructor @ the range an read up on pistolering articles.

Get used to the knowledge that yes when you pull the trigger the gun "IS" going to buck in your hand & make a loud noise.

Get accustomed to it & expect it. Do not be afraid.

And most importantly remember you get what you pay for especially when it comes to firearms & ammo.

If you get a cheap firearm & cheap ammo that is a recipe for disaster.
