OMG: Texas Tornadoes = Very Weird!!! | |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 60233864 ![]() 04/27/2015 12:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | More Info from Channel 5 NBC in Dallas at 11:00 PM CDT Here in western Tarrant County the thunder is suddenly getting louder so may need to go check things at this location regarding approaching storms or ??? whatever might be going on. ----------------------------- NOTES FROM TV COVERAGE: The Tornado Watch has been extended but the appears the most dangerous energy (?wind shear or ????) will remain mostly to the southern border of DFW metro area. They think this entire mass may slowly start sinking towards the southeast (away from DFW area). A few minutes ago, the reporter said that storms are now re-intensifying out to the west around Palo Pinto County (just west of Parker County). There is also another area near town of Glen Rose with some signs of circulation & hook might be forming but no warnings so far for that one except for hail / high winds. The radar they are showing shows cells one-after-another in a row towards the west. Breaking report: 3 miles south of Cleburne there is flooding with 3 feet of water across roads. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 60233864 ![]() 04/27/2015 12:14 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | MORE FROM CHANNEL 5 REPORTS LIVE: HERE IS LINK: [link to www.nbcdfw.com] There is now @ 11:07 PM CDT a new tornado signature appearing on radar ("per the National Weather Service") in the Johnson County storm and it is to the west of town of GRANDVIEW. I believe that Grandview is to the east of RIO VISTA area. That storm cell has been found to be moving eastwards at 10 mph. Tornado Warnings continue for that area & their radar shows new cells popping up back to the west but they seem to be congealing into a horizontal line of cells (closer together). Earlier this evening, we could see what looked like a massive circulation taking place over the DFW with a deck of very ominous mammatus protruding in large clumps yet no obvious attachment to any storms around this area (= really strange). This cloud deck began forming around noon and there were news reports in local media about people calling in with concerns over the strange cloud appearance. They are now doing some ads so I will take a break,,, |

TOPAZ! (OP) User ID: 60233864 ![]() 04/27/2015 12:56 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have been having some difficulties posting now and not sure what is to cause this so hmmmmmm?? NBC 5 is still doing the coverage live and the Tornado Warning is still going but some question if it actually on ground or not. It is around that area where Johnson County goes over into Hill County (around Grandview & south of town of "Blum").. the entire line still looks pretty hot but it all seems to be a bit further south. Ch 5 says that storms are still ongoing around the DFW area with lots of rain & thunder,, but nothing really bad ,,, saying on Ch 5 that there could still be some hail & wind tonight even in the metroplex but reconfirm that the main danger area is now going to be to the south of DFW. Now they are showing how the entire storm structure (all cells are linking up around a core area and it is starting to spin,, oh, now he says it is "SPINNING LIKE A PINWHEEL" ((WOW WOW WOW)... and he is pointing to it,, saying notice how the entire storm looks like it is being pushed now,, being pushed to the southeast. There are still Warnings for Severe Thunderstorm for Johnson County & Ellis County too along with Hill County under a Tornado Warning (remarks that there is a new Hail Core developing near Hillsborough in Hill County. Reporter says the leading edge of this spinning storm is still very dangerous and there could be new tornadoes form in that area! BREAKING: NEW STORM IN WISE COUNTY (TO NORTHWEST OF THE DFW REGION -- WARNING ISSUED FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM (NEW LAKE BRIDGEPORT) / 11:43 PM CDT Now shifted to a NBC Reporter driving in Stephenville, Texas: PD talking w/ the reporter live regarding a shelter for victims being closed (earlier tornado in that rural area there)... some trees down, may be damage to rural areas but no power in some places so ??? WHOA ... wait a second: 11:45 PM CDT: BREAKING >> SEVERE STORM WARNING FOR DALLAS AND TARRANT COUNTY !!!! He says there are now severe storms rotating around into both Dallas & Tarrant counties (the pinwheel of storms is being shown on their radar) Now talking about how there are new reports of a new TORNADO around the Grandview area & it is being verified by locals in that area; may be on ground.. WAIT, now he is getting a new report from the studio... saying "Confirmed report that a spotter is seeing the Tornado is on the ground at Grandview!!! Here's a new report @ 11:52 PM >> "Because of the rotation of the entire storm, there are new problems back in Johnson county on eastern county line w/ Hill county & town of Hillsborough (also big HAIL at Alvord - a town) as storms are rotating around & bringing in 80mph winds (straight line I guess) on the backside (southwards bound winds I presume)... this would be back to the west of where the current Tornado is located. They seem to be amazed at how this thing is now rapidly spinning so fast .. showing it spinning on the radar .... ( WHAT THE HELL IS REALLY GOING ON HERE, FOLKS !?!?!! THIS THING IS NOW SPINNING UP INTO DALLAS SO THIS IS GETTING FREAKY.... ) CON'T NEW POST ------- |

TOPAZ nli (OP) User ID: 60233864 ![]() 04/27/2015 01:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | CONT CHANNEL 5 LIVE COVERAGE - DALLAS The team is reviewing all the current warnings - I can't keep up ... and they just showed the map of radar with the lightning from the now merged "donut-ring storm_ (it is really spinning fast ya'll --) and there is a total mass of white lightning blobs lit up super bright. He is talking about how there are new storms moving back into Parker County - to my west - due to the spinning effect bringing storms backwards across northern Tarrant County into Wise County (which is north/northeast of the Springtown area) and then the circle of spin starts around a curve downwards towards the south --- it is a big broad circle of spin with the center in Johnson County (south of Tarrant). Now he says that the wind south of Grandview is going to the east but then winds that are to the east of that town is going due north (and FAST too w/ the spin) (I hope I got that right You just have to see this thing spinning to believe this , it is so wild,, I can hardly believe how this is really unfolding especially almost midnight time which is really rare for such storms in these parts! |

TOPAZ (OP) User ID: 60233864 ![]() 04/27/2015 01:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A NEW TORNADO WARNING FOR NORTHERN HILL COUNTY & SOUTHEASTERN JOHNSON COUNTY RIGHT NOW >> 12:08 AM CDT The team of Channel 5 is showing how the other tornadic area in Hill County seems to have dissipated while a new circulation has developed back to the north and east of the previous location (perhaps due to the spinning effect?) They are debating if this new Tornado Warning would be impacting people along the southern DALLAS County border area ... am not certain what is their conclusion. OMG, when they showed the latest radar of the SPINNING STORM image just now, this thing looks like a HURRICANE WITH AN EYE RIGHT IN THE CENTER ... Please, if anyone is watching this TV coverage, please give your impression of what this is.. the central core eye of this now huge spinning storm that's being surrounded by winds of 80 mph all the way around it (per what the team is saying at this moment) // // // They NBC are currently showing new images from reporter in their Storm Truck vehicle from the town of RIO VISTA from where tornado went through earlier ... a semi truck is on its side on top or next to a railroad tract ,, whole town is blacked out as he can hardly see; saying the High School has damage (tornado there was one mile wide and a wedge type they are saying on phone to local leaders) ... they are still organizing for search & rescue at this time. I'm hearing some really loud thunder & winds are suddenly coming up here in west side of Ft Worth - will check my radar & do quick break. |

TOPAZ (OP) User ID: 60233864 ![]() 04/27/2015 01:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ALERT - NEW TORNADO WARNING FOR TOWN OF "MAYPEARL" (didn't catch which county) .. and he is saying (Channel 5 news anchor) this area of Maypearl is actually to the north & west of the previous area of tornado activity (due to the spinning land-cane we got going here I guess)... I would swear that this storm is becoming more solidified in appearance on the radar of channel 5 ... and can see on channe3 8's radar that there are smaller cells forming further off back to the south/southwest and they are being sucked in to this spinning circulation mass ( = warm & moist inflow adding more energy into this thing). Thanks friend from Germany for this link -- it does show the spinning storm very well: [link to radar.weather.gov] They are saying that this storm is now extending further east & north of Way,, listing areas & times where the most dangerous parts of the storm will be: Corsicanna & Mexia are 2 being named by 1:00 AM. {{PS: To the person with a burr under the saddle over the "hysteria" coverage of this storm = ha, no one here @ GLP is forcing you to participate or even read this thread dude. I'm a true Texan from ranching & firefighting & EMP-P/ & SKYWARN certified over 30+ years & served as education staff with EOC disaster preps + Red Cross Disaster Team many years.. now retired. Grew up out on the ranch back when there was ZERO radar or anything to help a person except a party-line telephone and a sleepy operator to ring up the sheriff during a crisis = NO sort of warnings systems & it was a case of common sense & trusting gut feelings about every storm that came along. More than a few of us know durn well what's normal & not normal around these here parts! And we actually give a s'hit about what's taking place & will go help folks if called to duty. This region of the state has not been having these sorts of storms as has been happening in past few weeks, especially since the 7 past years of extreme & scary drought!! ((Plus God-only-knows what's REALLY going on at this time of very great instability in just about every way possible --> Lordy, this is GLP ... need I elaborate any more on that aspect ???????? |
TOPAZ (OP) User ID: 60233864 ![]() 04/27/2015 02:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Now it is getting more calm around my area @ 12:50 AM and the NBC Channel has stopped their live coverage. The Tornado Warnings are no longer being issued for this region (maybe the whole storm is less intense?) I missed the last bit for a quick trip to the BR so not certain but am heading off to get some sleep. So a big thanks to everyone reading & commenting & giving links / info. I have loved this forum & the participants very much since it first began back in 1999 and tried hard to hang in here & give my best to help others in whatever ways I can. PS: There are many reports of damage & all sorts of things going on ,, it is now coming in on the scanners as various Fire Departments from all over ( and other agencies ) are arriving into the worst areas & are having to relay information from the damage zone where there's no power or regular comms working so it is sounding pretty serious down that way = feel sadness. I hope all of you will join up to say prayers / send positive energy (or whatever floats your boat) to those who are impacted from this storm outbreak including not only victims & families but also the many EMS responders & numerous others who will be involved in helping with this event in some manner. Blessings / Be Aware - Be Alert ! TOPAZ |
