Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66016502 No way. That may be good for Israel, but here it's "live free or die fighting". Mandatory service is not freedom, in any dictionary. |

You go into a constitutional convention hoping to restore the original, and you come out with one that codifies the current state of the nation....or worse. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8597160 The people who are for this aren't very smart and seem to have missed history and civics. |

That is the problem. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 26438102 United States 04/30/2015 05:42 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I applaud the 'Bama congress critters spirit but if you can't get the sentiment to take root among the house and senate members in DC it is a mere token effort and a pointless exercise. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69080936 The question is if republicans control Congress - as they do - then why the hell not??? Something is seriously wrong with our form of government when the Congress can't do shit no matter what the party proportion. Right now, republicans overwhelmingly control congress and what have they done? - no obamacare revisions - no tax reductions - no surveillance restraints - no improved individual freedoms - no immigration rollbacks - no common core revisions - no halting of forced vaccinations - no stopping federalization of police - no acting on posse comitatus - no fixing our banking system The newly elected republican Congress has done absolutely NOTHING except roll back environmental protections, protect Monsanto, and fight against legalizing marijuana. In other words, they are the strong arm of mega-corporations and want austerity measures only for common people, while corporations, the MIC, and bankers continue to gain wealth through tax loops, budgetary reallocation, and regulatory roll-backs. We STILL do not have representatives of the people working for the common good. Our system is corrput to the core and it is IN our faces every minute of every day...and STILL we bitch about a few black guys taking some NIKES. YOUR KIDS FUTURE has been hedged, FFS!!!! |

Nationally, the party has been successful by cobbling together lots of smaller constituencies - minorities, women, LGBT - into majorities, but the Alabama Democratic Party has failed to do the same. Quoting: SLC And it won't - not ever - until it learns what diversity really means, until it shucks off the superficial quotas, and gets comfortable in its own skin - whatever color that is." [link to www.al.com] If I never see another democrat in Alabama government I would be happy. They took over after the civil war. Yes, democrat who were carpetbaggers, who just came like vermin. Every wrong thing that was talked about over the years was because of the strangle hold the democrats had here. The day came when we had a pretend republican, they a real one. If you think be would be better hand with any democrat your are crazy. A governor who does not take pay is pretty good, it hurts to have to cut thing off but heck we can not pay more taxes, that is the federal and state, not enough jobs. I can lay a lot at the feet of The President who is in office right now, you remember when he said the utilities would have to go way up, well thanks to him they have. Does not matter what you do, it does not bring the bill down. He is trying to do it again, I think we have done enough, for the lying globe warming, carbon tax paying scheme. Daughter out with my own way. |
