[link to www.breitbart.com (secure)] Quoting: Don Draper from Nantucket China’s state-run Global Times on Monday used the weekend’s shootings to argue that gun ownership is “out of control” in the United States and mass shootings are “shocking in a U.S. allegedly governed by law.” That curious phrasing — criminals by definition do not obey laws, so their existence does not prove a nation is lawless — belied China’s desire to use mass shootings as a way of slapping back at Americans who criticize Beijing for such horrors as the persecution of the Uyghur Muslims and the erosion of Hong Kong’s autonomy. The authoritarian Chinese Communist Party (CCP) calls every nation with more freedom “lawless” to justify China’s heavy censorship, politicized justice system, and ruthless suppression of dissent Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

Seer777 (OP) Ride the wings of the mind User ID: 78264143 United States 12/30/2019 11:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The Social Credit System is a national reputation system being developed by the Chinese government. The program initiated regional trials in 2009, before launching a national pilot with eight credit scoring firms in 2014. In 2018, these efforts were centralized under the People's Bank of China with participation from the eight firms. By 2020, it is intended to standardize the assessment of citizens' and businesses' economic and social reputation, or 'Social Credit'. The system will be one unified system and there will be a single system-wide social credit score for each citizen and business. The system is considered a form of mass surveillance which uses facial recognition system and big data analysis technology. In 2019, it is estimated that 200 million monitoring CCTV cameras of the "Skynet" network have been put to use in mainland China, with eight Chinese cities ranked among the world's top ten most monitored cities, while the number of surveillance cameras is expected to reach 626 million by 2020 when the Social Credit System becomes fully effective [link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] [link to youtu.be (secure)] Difficulties strengthen the Mind as labor does the body... ~Seneca |

There is an episode, the coasts one, where it was documented how sea lions - known to be lone-wolf style hunters - in the Galapagos had developed a cooperative hunting method whereby they were able to drive tuna into shallow inlets, causing the tuna to beach themselves in a panic and/or be over-powered by the slower, less nimble seafaring predators when escape routes were cut-off by others in the gathered pack of lions. |

Good morning. I have watched that series, and both seasons of Planet Earth and have seen that behavior in other species as well. Orca hunt right over on the other side of the spit, and sea lions are certainly a threat in our Bay. Noone to my knowledge has ever been injured by an animal in our Bay, but people drown there kinda often. For years, 2 guys would sand shrimp hunt with their tiny boat, and noisy motor until one morning they went too close to where the river and ocean meet, and one was drown.
