If you read the biblical quotes, the Old Testament tells Jews its ok to charge interest when lending money to non-Hebrews.

Jesus didn't seem to agree with that, however.


So, not an abomination in the eyes of God (unless you're one of "God's chosen"), but abomination in the eyes of the Son of God.

I suppose one could argue that since Jesus was preaching to fellow Jews, he was actually in agreement with God, in that usury is OK, as long as its not used against fellow Jews.
