The Republic is Dying

Still naïve enough to think the republic isn't dying? It has rotted from the inside out, like a carcass baking in the sweltering desert sun. As the ancient Athenian democracy and the Roman Republic after, the democratic Republic of the United States of America has been all but destroyed.

Not to fret fellow citizens, this is nothing new. It has happened one-hundred times before and will happen one-hundred times again, but know this is true as there are a billion stars arrayed in the heavens: The republic is dying!

If the republic is dying, what then shall have caused its death? The death certificate of the Democratic Republic of the United States of America shall read: Death by Suicide!

Let's assume for the moment that, fools though we all may be, the 2000 Florida election wasn't stolen. Let's pretend the Bush administration didn't use the attacks of September 11, 2001, as a convenient excuse to lie the nation to war in a vain attempt to secure the world's second largest oil field's for the greedy exploitation of their Big Oil friends. Let's act as if the Secretary of Defense hasn't accused all who disagree with the administration's failed war of telling a "lie", creating a "myth", and spreading "distortions" that are harmful to their own country. Just act as if Rumsfeld didn't call into question the "moral" and "intellectual" capacity of all who question their right to make war at Will! While we are at it, ignore the fact that Bush has been illegally spying on the American people. Let's take this pathetic game of "Bury Our Heads in the Sand" a bit further still, and say Tom DeLay wasn't a corporate prostitute who sold the people's interests to the highest bidder. Continuing on, because there is no reason now to stop - deny unto ourselves that Republican Duke Cunningham didn't sell his vote for millions of dollars in bribes. Ah, but why shall we stop this game now? Let's just assume Jack Abramoff wasn't a two-bit criminal. Hell with it all! Let's pretend the Bush administration didn't commit treason and out an undercover CIA agent in order to make her husband pay for daring to inform the public of the Iraq War lies.

Yes, let's agree to pitch it all aside and start from this dark moment in the history of the republic. Senator Arlen Specter, who, while before the cameras promised to hold Bush to account for his warrantless and unconstitutional wiretapping, has in reality offered legislation that would allow the president to expand his illegal and unconstitutional actions. And, Dennis Hastert, in order to circumvent due process in the likely fraudulent June election in California, swore in the supposed winner before the election was certified. His actions, in the eyes of the great Republican Party, make null-and-void any challenge to the results. Finally, as if that isn't yet enough, the Republican governor of Texas is going to, in an effort to steal another election, hold a "special election" to fill the remainder of Tom DeLay's term. The "special election" will take place the day before the general election that would have surely meant defeat for both Tom DeLay AND the Republican Party's write in candidate. A sure-fire way to ensure election-day chaos and through it, to miraculously declare the Republican write in candidate the "victor"!

This! All of this is the United States of America? Since when! Since when does the Executive scold the citizens and accuse them of being "morally" and "intellectually" flawed for daring to disagree with their failed wars? Since when do the peoples' representatives flaunt their greed, bribes, and kickbacks? Since when do those elected "certify" and "sanctify" their own elections? Since when do the various governments collude to ensure failed, flawed, and corrupted elections? Since when!

So, you still do not believe the republic is in its last days? It is rotting from within just as the great Roman Republic had those hundreds of years ago. The Republic of the United States of America is dying, and there is no use pretending you don't smell the stench of the rotting carcass.

As for those who continue to prop up this pathetic parasitic plague that eats away at the innards of this once great republic - you call yourselves Americans? You aren't Americans! You are the enablers of tyranny. You! Each and every one of you, are the maggots that swim in the decomposing flesh of this republic! You call yourselves Americans? You are nothing more than the starving cowards who would rather eat the peanuts out of tyranny's feces, than be courageous enough to think and feed yourselves. Every one of you people piss on the graves of America's Founding Fathers. And you dare call yourselves Americans? Pathetic!

Take in a long deep breath you enablers of tyranny. Does that stench stick in your nostrils? Can you smell the republic's carcass rotting? Get used to it...you are the parasite eating away at its carcass from the inside out!
