In NW NJ...Didn't see anything, but I am west of Picatinny, where they may have come from.

Probably means nothing..
The last time i was in London there were Chinooks flying overhead and landing and nobody even looked up.

Were seen in essex.. Flying directly towards NYC

3 days ago 7 Kiowa helicopters flew over my house.

The next day 5 Blackhawks flew over.

They're loud SOBs.

Probably.. But I've never seen Chinooks in real life.. Never flying that low. Holy shit were they loud!

I swear to Christ I thought a news helicopter was coming down or something,, it was so fucking loud

Keep your eyes up.

If you're around military choppers enough, you won't even look up when you hear a news chopper.

The sounds of military hardware that is meant to provide maximum power, work in diverse conditions, and not a care in the world given for noise suppression for sake of passenger comfort is quite distinct.

Military choppers will begin to rattle the ground or the structure you're in from a distance away.

Once you gain an ear for them, it's like comparing the sound a Lamborghini makes with the sound a Prius makes.

I was driving down Route 22 East in Bridgewater yesterday and saw them both flying over (like you said, toward NYC)! I actually was googling it to see what was going on and found this forum.
