Maybe the numbers were a "correction" of sorts. The previous daily drops from March to May dont match with the waterline pictures IMO. Quoting: Pup Daddy~ Great work guys!!!!! I believe there has been a ten foot drop since early March. Which accounts for the dark water mark I was speaking of. Just guessing/estimating from the two pictures....Mine and Geo's.... It looks like a 10 to 12 drop. So....either all is well, or we have a two foot unexplained drop. This could be the case and confirmed by looking at the data on the independent metering sources for the levels of the lake. Or Take the water level in your pic, note the height against the columned pillars (you can tell by the horizontal rings on them) compare with Geomagstorms, figure out the incremental height of the rings = actual loss of water volume. Regardless of shill it will be fairly accurate. wmMmw |

Wouldnt a water line be more pronounced at the edges/shallowest areas of the lake and not the deepest? It is not cup shaped.. Quoting: Pup Daddy~ A foot is a foot no matter where on the lake, the only place it would matter if it was an area less than a foot deep? |

I see what you see based on the darker line on the damn. It is way more white underneath today than in March. However...lol NOW my question is do the small daily drops in our time . frame add up to what we can see? I just find this concerning as i live in AZ. So naturally i would like v to know if b there is an additional water shortage problem. So grateful for the vids & pix!! Your garden variety Illuminati Princess~ |

Wouldnt a water line be more pronounced at the edges/shallowest areas of the lake and not the deepest? It is not cup shaped.. Quoting: Pup Daddy~ Yeah this is A good point No, it's not a good point at all. Its actually unbelieveably stupid. You will see a waterline the same in shallow or,deep. The best place to spot a waterline is on bridges, bridge pilings, and submerged trees. There is a normal pool or full pool waterline that most fluctuating lakes have, sorta a stained mark from prior years. If you need any info on water fluctuation, ask a local fisherman. At the moment, Lake Mead is continuing at a normal declining pace for it's current drought conditions. The shear stupidity on this site atm is shattering. Either some are seriously mentally retarded, on heavy drugs, a bot, or just plain old fashion stupid. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 69089671 United States 05/25/2015 12:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would imagine that the closer to the bottom you get, the steeper the lake tapers, this causes that effect of the last bit running faster, just like when the bathtub drains, the last bit always sucks down faster. However I didnt study hydrodynamics in school. |

Something to consider about internet forums is that people from all age groups can post on a thread, and what you get is some adults are engaging in arguments with uneducated children. Would you physically sit down in a room and engage in a serious conversation with 10 year olds? I'm surprised the internet has even lasted this long. |

[link to news.yahoo.com] And I don't think they're talking about Lake Mead. So did 50 million gallons of water just go missing overnight at TWO different water sources? This is GLP, so its either the .gov, the earth (earthquakes, etc) or aliens. One of these 3 took it..... Or someone made the story up (this *is* GLP, after all) |

Quoting: Desert Gypsy [link to m.flickr.com (secure)] [link to m.flickr.com (secure)] These^ are Geomagnectic_Storm's photos. The dam was crazy with Memorial Day visitors so I didn't Go down close. And my photos aren't that great. See if you can see any difference. :Lake1: I drove all around the dam and the west side of the lake. The toll booth lady said her supervisor had just been talking About the lake level reports and that it was a faulty reading. She said the restaurants at the marina would have their stilts Showing evidence of a substantial drop. The only place that caught my eye was on the northwest End of the lake. There are dark brown water marks all around All the islands. They appear to be about 2 or 3 feet high. It's hard to see from this distance, but you can make out the New dark bathtub ring. It is dark because it's still moist.... As in a recent drop. Photo pending.... The Starbuckian User ID: 32665544 United States 05/25/2015 01:29 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If the reservoir is at it's lowest levels, then this would be a good time to remove the accumulated silt, without having the hassle of stirring up the bottom by dredging it. People forget that these reservoirs are in the process of filling up slowly with transported volcanic ash from the surrounding region. Since that land bears evidence of volcanic origins of fairly recent activity, where leaked water may be going is anyone's guess, such is the nature of lava tubes. In fact to the north and slightlty to the east of Las Vegas and Area 51 are half a dozen semi extinct volcanic calderas, each one of which is the size of the city of Las Vegas. In fact to the east of Las Vegas are road cuts through some low lying hills which are demonstrative of a shield volcano, meaning that there are alternating layers of large stone and smaller stone with sand. It is easily seen from the route that the city bus takes around the city. “Queen Sarah, save us from the Black Dog King!” - from the play, Dissocia [link to tasaonline.org.au (secure)] "Never be anyone's French poodle." - Mr Hamilton |

At first look after blowing up the pictures but without putting the ruler to it is looks like the lake has dropped 15+- feet between the two pictures ... which may be about 9 to 10 weeks apart? (the pictures are at different scales so one needs to adjust for that) (note also the WHITE ring location on the water intake columns .... somewhat more defined in many respects than the dark ring on the dam itself) |
