Yeah, I think the visor reflections gave them fits.

There is a really good one from Apollo 12, where you can basically see the camera and the stand, the tripod, in the visor reflection.

I.E. Camera without an astronaut attached to it.

Also, the 'sun' is blatantly a spotlight (or rather a series of metal halide floodlights arranged in a tight circle) in some of the visor reflections from the later missions (Apollo 16 and 17). Probably because they filmed so much more footage, that it became tough to always keep the floodlights a certain distance, or the astronauts moving a certain direction (i.e. away from the floodlights).

Yes indeed. If the day comes when there is evidence that the landings were fake I will be the first to admit I am wrong. I have been on this earth for quite a while, and life is too short to waste on falsehood.

That said, we landed men on the moon. Good men who put their lives on the line after their friends and colleagues died in the effort. Thousands of people worked to achieve what had never been achieved before and accomplished it. All the conspiracy stories rob those astronauts and the thousands is people who supported them of the credit they deserve for moving mankind forward enormously. That is why I even bother posting on these threads.

Its worse than that. Not only did people put their lives on the line, but NASA probably had a hand in their deaths, as well. Thomas Baron. Gus Grissom. Good men. The best.

I believe there is a reasonable suspicion we went to the moon. I don't believe it is more likely than not that we went to the moon (less than 50% chance we went to the moon). There certainly isn't evidence beyond a reasonable doubt that we went to the moon and only a nut would say that the evidence we went to the moon was beyond all doubt.

This is a common myth: That "someone" would successfully expose a hoax (i.e., so that the whole world would believe him).

Known cases demonstrate that most people would rather believe a convenient lie than face an inconvenient truth. This is how politicians get elected and stay in office, and this is how bureaucracy continues to grow and flourish unchallenged.

Case 1: Until the Gulf of Tonkin hoax was declassified in 2005, no "serious" politician, bureaucrat, armed-forces member, academic, or journalist dared to question the official narrative, much less vigorously investigate it. There were no successful whistleblowers. Even today, the vast majority of Americans are blissfully unaware that President Johnson chose to commit mass murder by dragging us into an unjust war that killed not only 50,000 American soldiers but millions of Vietnamese.

Case 2: Until a rather recent published book, no one seriously questioned Franklin Roosevelt's claim that the Japanese carried out a "sneak attack" that caught our leaders--in Washington and in the Hawaiian Islands--totally by surprise. FDR's claim was quite extraordinary: That the Japanese sent an entire flotilla across the Pacific Ocean without ever being sighted by Americans or British, who had the two largest navies in the world at that time, and that only by luck our valuable aircraft carriers were out of port while our obsolete battleships were sitting ducks.

Once again, no "serious" politician, bureaucrat, academic, armed-forces member or journalist challenged the official narrative, much less investigated its veracity or lack thereof. And once again, there were no successful whistleblowers. The fact that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff "couldn't remember" what he was doing the night before the attack somehow didn't strike anyone as odd; nor did the fact that the Japanese ambassador who arrived to deliver the declaration of war was deliberately kept waiting until after the attack had started, contrary to the Emperor's instructions.

The recent book makes clear what really happened: FDR had promised Churchill that he would get the United States into the war by the end of 1941, one way or another, and he accomplished that quite cleverly. Not only by inflaming the American public with the claim of a "sneak attack," but also by deliberately leaking European war plans to his arch-enemy the Chicago Tribune. The Tribune, as expected, quickly published an expose of the plans, and Hitler then quoted the Tribune (!) in his declaration of war against the United States. How convenient for FDR!

The book is Day of Deceit: The Truth About FDR and Pearl Harbor, by Robert Stinnett.

If this was a court case I don't think there would be enough evidence to prove that the Apollo missions actually happened as seen on TV.

There are too many points to doubt. And yes, it is up to NASA to prove that they did something that had never been done before or since.

As I said in an earlier post, the fact that NASA had simulators including a detailed 3D replica of the lunar surface which provided realistic flyovers and landings does not help their credibility.

Additionally, there have been more than a few whistleblowers employed by NASA. Their names get buried, however they can be found.

One worked very closely with the producers of Capricorn 1.

Not many things pain me more than to have doubts about these men and these missions... in a way its like the day you learn Santa isnt real, or that your parents actually have flaws.. its a huge ...HUGE thing. I prefer it actually that it is all exactly as it had/has been shown and described , and I would be not only happy, but relieved to repent of my currently held skepticisms.

What would be the motivation to blow the whistle?

Assume there was a NASA employee who knew that what was shown on TV / photographs did not happen that way in real life. What is he supposed to do?

* Tell his neighbors? They would say he was crazy, or was anti-American, etc.
* Write a book? People would say he was just looking for money and attention.
* Or just be quiet and keep his retirement checks coming in?

He has denied that he is leaving because of a lack of support for NASA, but says he felt that the agency had been made "a sort of whipping boy" by the US Congress. He also said that he was leaving the Apollo programme with a concession that the Soviet Union was ahead in the space race and that the United States "is going to remain second for some time."

In a despatch from Washington on September 17, UPI correspondent George Weeks commented that NASA "faced an uncertain future...in the wake of the surprise resignation of director James E. Webb, who quit with a warning that the United States is losing the space race." Weeks added that "the No. 1 spaceman was himself a loser--of the battle of the budget with Congress. He was a victim of the Vietnam war, the US civil disorders and other earthly problems responsible for lowering the priority of the space programme."

Look at how many astronauts died, immediately prior to the Apollo Program. In suspicious circumstances, no less. A lot of airplane crashes, esp. considering that these men were supposed to be the best. And valuable. You aren't just sending them up in some experimental plane, let alone without an ejection seat!

Gus Grissom was supposed to be the first man on the Moon. But he wasn't happy with the quality of the Apollo Program, i.e. command module and lunar ascent vehicle, at all.

Famously put the ole LEMON in the window! And what did he get for his troubles? Locked in a 100% oxygen container, and burned to death, along with 2 other great men, Chaffee and White.

Honestly, 3 of the best and brightest NASA had.

Who were they replaced by? The yesmen. The go-along to get along crew, of Buzz, Neil and the deranged Michael Collins.

Thomas Baron, his wife, and child, also die. I mean, sorry, he parks he car on some train tracks! Yeah, thats it. You know why? Because no one does an autopsy after you have been hit by a train (same as dying in a 'helicopter crash').

There were a bunch more too, those were the most high profile.

I think they told the guys they would only have to lie for a few years, 'until we go for real'. Maybe not the astronauts, seems like they were likely hypnotized and drugged to think they were going to the Moon, and then afterwards, that they had been on the Moon.

But guys like Kubrick and other head honchos.

Now if you have seen entire families killed, to keep the secret, why would you blow the whistle? Or would you rather release a 'rumor'? A 'conspiracy theory'?
