Is bad luck real/reversible?

Let me just start by saying this last year has been the worst. It's been hard. I've dealt with serious sickness. Losing a fiancé. The sickness causing other life issues. And now I can say this point in my life is the lowest and definitely going to be the hardest to get myself back to a good place. Every time I feel like I am getting things going in the right direction something else bad has to happen. I don't feel like it's really a karma thing as I have always been such a nice person. I love helping out when I can. And if you could ask any of my friends they would tell you I could probably never be mean to anyone. I don't feel like going into my faith on here, and I don't know that I believe in good or bad luck but there has to be something to it after all the shit I've gone through this year. I know that all I can really do is to continue to work hard and get myself out of this place I'm in. But you just feel kinda hopeless sometimes ya know? Maybe if other people have been able to change their luck in some crazy ways I could give it a try lol. I'm not looking for sympathy:) just some information on luck.
