Once Iran gains nuclear weapons, I suppose the advantages of a strong central state with control over its nuclear arsenal would have to be weighed against the possibility of losing a warhead or two in the chaos of war.

My understanding is that Iran's program is not progressing very quickly. There is still a period of maybe five years before anything resembling a nuclear weapon will be created so there is still time for creative diplomacy.

For instance, failure to comply with UN resolutions would result in the immediate carpet bombing of the country with pig's heads.
