The states are banned by the Constitution from printing currency.

However... Utah became the first state to introduce its own alternative currency.
And now Utah has no capital gains tax. (You know, less destruction of "capital") That's a good thing in case I've lost you already.
And the coins are allowed to be exchanged at their current market value, whatever that may be.

Arizona recognizes gold and silver as legal currency.
Businesses there have a "right", but are not required to accept gold and silver in exchange for goods and services.
The buying and selling of gold and silver coins in Arizona is not considered an investment and therefore not subject to capital gains.

I am not aware of the citizens of either Utah or Arizona complaining about having their gold and silver stolen. Are you?

If Texas is successful, it will be possible to exchange the physical coins for goods and services, so you could actually use coins to buy anything from groceries to a car as long as the store chooses to accept them.

Most importantly, if the states are not able to somehow disengage themselves (both the government and the citizens) from the Fed they will go down in flames along with the Fed when it does.

Considerinh though that the Texas government has been very concerned about Jade Helm, perhaps Texas had decided to do this prior to now, and anticipated the federal government may respond with hostility. I see a lot of possibilities here, but the probability seems in favor of this program quickly developing a very stunted growth.

VERY clearly remember my grandmother grandfather, mother , and father all telling me at one time or many others, bury your gold, hide your gold, etc. Gramps told me a lot of world war I and depression history, father as well.

None in my family turned gold in to FDR. It was family gold, never talked about unless someone died. And never around children.

I wouldn't bring my metal to any kind of bank.. Thats just dumb. And I'm to paranoid..

I understand that some Texas university had its hedge fund (retirement plansd and whatnot) in the form of gold bullion (about $2 Billion) stored with the big north eastern bullion banks. They were paying a hefty fee to this out of state bank. The legislature just provided a new depository for this bullion, out of the hands of the usual suspects.
When they try to transfer the physical bars, we'll see if the bank can cough it up or if it has been leased out (sold).

Anyway, they aren't going to go off the paper dollar or anything, just bringing home their money.
That is all.
And giving a thumb to the eye of the eastern power brokers.
