Supertzar Breshears is Off: Ask Me Why User ID: 65955727 United States 06/13/2015 11:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | i helped my ex girlfriend (she is a wedding photographer) out on a couple of weddings. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68688884 I was stunned at how much photgraphers make. Even low level ones, like portrait/wedding photographers. So I went and invested in some of my own photography gear. Been going around practicing. Walking around downtown cities and in crowded places. It is CRAZY how different everything else. Its like... its like being a supermodel. Everywhere you go everyone is smiling and treating you great and trying to talk to you and get to know you. You get whatever you ask for. There is literally no barrier to conversation with anyone. You can walk up to the hottest women or a little old man or a police officer and start talking to them. At this point I want to start making a little money with my photography not so much for the money, but just so I can keep going around with this magical aura of 'professional photographer'. Lol. I mean... I'm a decent looking, sociable guy anyway. So its not like I'm some syhpilitic troglodyte who suddenly feels loved. But the difference is... NOTICEABLE. If you have never done it. You should try it. i used to see guys walking around with guitars and cameras and kind of dismiss them as guys using social crutches... now? tomorrow I'm going to cover myself in tattoos, buy a nice guitar, and keep on with the photography thing. Lol If this were a Photography forum, we'd all be calling you a troll right now. You are GWC and give genuine amateur photographers a bad rap. Anyone who isn't trolling knows that it's the opposite out there on the street. Everyone sees your gear and views you with suspicion and are bracing for a scam, or a creeper or whatever. Also, photographers highly resent tools who think real photography is easy. It isn't, and your work would probably be derided by anyone with any real skill. I almost wonder if this entire post isn't lifted directly from a photography forum. Anyway, good luck with your endeavor. I get what you are saying about the 'creeper' thing. it might be because there were two of us. My friend has been an amateur photographer for fifteen years. We walked around together and he kind of taught me stuff. People seemed more receptive when there were two of us. As soon as he left and I was by myself it was a bit more awkward. But like I said, I'm a really sociable guy. [link to www.facebook.com (secure)] there are some pics I've taken so far. Its only been a couple days, but the pics from earlier today are already a lot better than the first day. I'm getting better with perspective. Learned about the thirds thing. Working on depth of field but my lens isn't suited for really awesome bokeh. I could do better with lighting but I have to make do with whatever lighting there is when I'm taking pics of strangers in public. I ask to take their pic, they say yes, i snap one, then walk off. don't know what gwc is... and don't know why you think i'm trolling. I know this is a conspiracy forum, but I post on here all the time about doom and gloom conspiracies. Predictions about robots taking over the world etc. Had a very positive day and some positive experiences. Just thought I'd share. Probly stick to photography forums from now on. Was thinking about going to dallas tonight n snapping some nightlife pics. not sure how that would go over though. I could walk the streets but the lighting would probly be too dim right? |
