Wealthy Californians: "We Are All Not Equal When It Comes To Water" | |

They just pay the fine, it's nothing for them. So is everybody equal when it comes to water? Nope, unless you connect the amount of the fine to the income or net worth of the person(s) involved. Quoting: Alobe Also, read this: Water central to global peace, development, UN deputy chief tells London summit [link to www.un.org] Just go start collecting off those melting glaciers you guys harp about all the time and the planet will have all the water it needs. |

Golf courses, once the grass dies off to the drought, it's going to cost millions to repair. Most likely will fall to disarray after that. Same for public parks, football fields, baseball fields, soccer fields, etc. It costs very little to maintain the land but costs a lot of money to repair the land for regrowth. Golf is not a necessity. It is a luxury that should be turned off. |

The guy actually argues that they should not have to play golf on a brown golf course! Who ARE these people? They are the AMERICAN CITIZENS who already pay 80% of the nation's tax burden. Oh they pay money! Well let's just give them ALL of the water then shall we? It's your ilk that have caused the problem. You're not "giving" them anything. They are paying for it. And its not your water to give in the first place. But is the money they pay for the water going towards developing any new sources of water? Hell no! Its going towards more libtardian social welfare programs, corruption and graft to keep the TPTB in power, so they can create more problems an herald themselves as the solution. What a fing retard! Don't blame me for all your friggin Woes Buddy! My point is that forests are dying because of the water shortage. And that having green lawns and golf courses is ridiculous when something like this is going on. Forests can't PAY for their water. And YOUR "ILK" doesn't have a right to to the water they need, no matter how much you pay! |

So, tax money brings the rain, huh? I think you are confused. Tax money supplies the means to transport the water. If the water isn't there, I guess there is less tax on your overall water bill. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 68720404 United States 06/14/2015 11:11 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Foremost, keeping lawns "green" doesn't have any positive environmental effects because Southern California is a Mediterranean Climate. It is akin to pissing in a swimming pool, it feels good, but it's not having any substantial influence. Second, America's vast produce machine that gives us fresh lettuce and citrus in December is largely a creation of California Agriculture. So, for those prattling about "equality", "wealthy farmers", and "rights to water" think about this, what good is your fucking golf course if the country is Mad Max from coast to coast? Are you going to play nine holes with a special operations detachment acting as your protective detail? Americans need to get their fucking priorities straight. We are in a fuckin' real pinch and it ain't about fucking golf courses and forest lawns! This drought is partly man made, partly nature, but it's all bad. Use some fucking common sense, if you ain't got food, then what have you got? |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 65268336 United States 06/14/2015 11:13 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The rich want their pools, pretty lawns and they want water for their showers to drink when they are thirsty. They pay for it, the famers are not able to properly water OUR foods because they are forced to stop using the river water, how will the crops grow? when the effect of this appears in the markets to which you/they find our foods that the famers grow to fill our bellies, they find bad or no food, I wonder how they will pay for food that is not available? will they still demand forever water because THEY have money? As for the drought it has reached far past California. here in montana we are in a small drought situation. here we have started water restrictions far before they are a big issue an know what? the people hear are none to happy t obide by our state and city request from the poor to the rich its working here and no one is complaining. Our pools have yet to open and no one is complaining. the parks are becoming yellowish and no one is complaining. we seem to value the need for water over the need of the wealthies show off and excessive needs. |
