What?!? Private prisons suing states for millions if they donít stay full
This is an older story, but with election season already upon us and repeated recent reports of for-profit prisons being one of the biggest political lobbies we never hear about, it's something people should be keeping in mind.

"The prison-industrial complex is so out of control that private prisons have the sheer audacity to order states to keep beds full or face their wrath with stiff financial penalties, according to reports. Private prisons in some states have language in their contracts that state if they fall below a certain percentage of capacity that the states must pay the private prisons millions of dollars, lest they face a lawsuit for millions more.

And guess what? The private prisons, which are holding cash-starved states hostage, are getting away with it, says advocacy group, In the Public Interest.

In the Public Interest has reviewed more than 60 contracts between private prison companies and state and local governments across the country, and found language mentioning ďquotasĒ for prisoners in nearly two-thirds of those contracts reviewed. Those quotas can range from a mandatory occupancy of, for example, 70 percent occupancy in California to up to 100 percent in some prisons in Arizona."

What a class action lawsuit this could be, it could make the lawyers billionaires.

I don't think that people care.

We're raised from infancy to consider "criminals" as lessor. We're seldom taught about the increasingly arbitrary nature of our legislation - more and more new ways to break the law every legislative session - or the totally unjust nature of our criminal "justice" system.

People mistakenly believe that more laws make us safer - a total fallacy. If they made us safe, why the need for the enforcers?

The truth about our legal system is that it's totally corrupt and broken. But it is a great way to create the largest slave population in the world right in the land of the free.

I mean, if you defend these people who are sucked into the corrupt, for-profit prison systems, you're treated like a criminal yourself - refuse to be a good cog and you'll find yourself in there with the rest of the troublemakers.

The real issue is that we as citizens have allowed ourselves to be backed into a corner based on our fear. People are afraid of the big, bad criminals - even if their crime is something as arbitrary as collecting rain water.

We're programmed to believe that if you're in the clink, you got what you deserve. We turn a blind eye to the way these people are treated, stripped of every conceivable human right, because some ignorant fucker who's paycheck taxpayers fund decided to take a lobby bribe from a for-profit prison.

It's unbelievable.

Laws are created to make new pots on money.

However, we are told they are "for your safety" because men are ruled by death instead of Life.

"For the love of money (silver) is the root of all evil."

If someone would kill another man for their $100 pair of sneakers on their feet, what would some do for one million dollars...?

There is a reason Judas was "keeper of the money bag"

Nothing demonstrates this concept more clearly than a nation full of people willing to see millions of their countrymen reduced to slaves in order to balance budgets.
