Vegas will NOT run out of water. California guzzles 10x out of Lake mead what Las Vegas does.

I can't post a direct link to the RJ story, so find it by googling 'WHY Vegas will not run out of water' and search in the past month (June 13, 2015). The search phrase is NOT the title of the story, but gets the story to the top of search if using the time search of within the past month.

A couple of facts rephrased from the story, and I am NOT quoting. In 1922 there was an act created called 'Colorado River Compact', which divided the water to Ca, AZ and NV. Nevada was to be alloted 300k acre feet/yr (less than 2% of Colorado River water). Since Las Vegas recycles all its sewer water, it only uses 225k acre feet after recycling the waste water.

The problem will be California's and Arizona's, not Nevada. It appears as though once they use up what they were allotted, their faucet gets shut off? Las Vegas has up to 8 years of water in storage even if the Colorado River completely dried up, which won't happen as long as the Rocky Mountains exist.
