So don't pay interest or fees. No one is stopping you from not buying things which have fees or interest attached.

It's not like these people are 'avoiding' paying such things, per se. Just like religion isn't 'being used like this' per se. It just is what it is, and these people are sticking to their guns.

All they will do is raise the price of something else to compensate for the loss, so really this isn't going to gain the average person much if anything.
