Let's just say that nothing will come out of this, though we both know SHTF sooner than later

I think we approach the time where the activity rises. I know this because it usually rises when i get ready to go to sleep, then i stay longer.

Are you guys referencing more than one seismograph? Has anyone considered that there may be a glitch on that site? Anything less than a 4.0 mag is insignificant and California has, multiples 2.0's, etc. daily. That is not abnormal.

Easily 5 hours + of this constant, continuous slight trembling now, with a few low grade EQs thrown in. [link to abc7.com]
 Quoting: OnTheFence

so the constant, slight movement is what we are concerned with - I have also seen a bigger twitch or two.

but the main thing is, it is NOT steady.

The STEADY part IS the jitteriness!

yes this may be a long, LONG night. superman
 Quoting: beeches

You are 100% correct. I would guess something might pop within 12-24 hours. This constant shimmering of the earth might cause a fault to let loose big time.
If I remember correctly, there was this kind of shimmering for hours, before the Japan quake a few years ago. When the shimmering stopped for a few hours, is when that quake happened.
 Quoting: tiger1

those in California are mentioning that too.

in any case, our thoughts and concern go out to our friends experiencing this in real life . . . . . hi

Yes this shaking is showing up on seismographs from Cujon pass to the salton sea the tremors are from deep shift in the faults however until the crust snaps we cannot be positive on where or when it will occur all we know is this tremor always precedes a quake and two it is on either the san andreas or the san jacito fault

I'm not totally sure how it works, but every increment above a 9 point earthquake is considered so much bigger than the increment previous it's pretty much impossible to have a quake register as 11.

Hmmm, considering this is wide spread I now doubt construction.

Each number up is 10 times the last.

So a 1x 6 Mag is equivalent in energy to 10x 5 Mag earthquakes.

An 11 Mag quake is equal to 100 earthquakes at 9 magnitude.

this is not caused by HAARP, or any other man made idea this is a simple process of geology that has been going on for 4.6 billion years its called plate tectonics.
right now the pacific plate is moving northwest in relation to the north american plate these faults the san andreas and the san jacito are the place where the two plates meet.

I agree, I like to brainstorm all potential ideas though.

Supposing this could be a precursor to the massive fault rupture coming in the Pacific.

Fox news, Shepard Smith did report on it from another journal.

Wow Fox new reported on this nice. If I am to guess the is going to look alot like most of the earthquakes in this area which happen ever 5-20 years the last one was in 1987 however this area has been built up since then last time an earthquake hit this area Hemet was a small remote desert town now the inland empire has grown up

Religion explains Geology How again? I am not disparaging faith I am just not sure how an earthquake precursor tremor is based on anything but physical principals of hardness, Friction, Inertia, heat, Motion etc..

I'm a Bay Area native, and for as long as I can remember we've always had small quakes happen on a regular basis, you get used to it. They're actually kind of fun. We've been warned for years about "The Big One", and, geologically speaking, it's a given it's gonna happen.

However, this is the first time I've ever heard such adamant "soon" warnings from credible sources, so... Glad we have preps. If we survive that and the accompanying tsunami that is. peace

desert it would be cajon pass which is at the bottom of Hesperia...I say we will have a 9.4 on the Cascadia from Oregon up to Canada. This volcano underwater off the 101 is still showing activity.
