Heres a good one, how twisted is this? Steve Irwin's daughter wants to swim with stingray that killed her dad
Steve Irwin's daughter wants to swim with stingray that killed her dad Posted on Saturday, 16 September 2006 (EST)

London, Sept 16: The eight-year-old daughter of late crocodile hunter, Steve Irwin, has expressed a strong desire to swim with the same stingray that killed her daredevil father.

Bindi, who was named after one of Steve's favorite crocodiles, is working on her own wildlife series called ‘Jungle girl’, and has vowed to finish the film about the giant fish about stingrays.

John Stainton, a friend and manager of Steve, revealed that when the 44-year-old crocodile hunter died as a result of stingray's barb piercing into his chest, he was shooting for his daughter's children's TV show, and that the fateful footage was recorded on the spur of the moment.

"He had been filming for his own show, Ocean's Deadliest, but suddenly he said he was off to seek out some normally harmless stingrays. It should have been an innocent encounter for a TV show aimed at children," the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.

After Steve’s demise, it was thought that Bindi's show would be axed, but the little girl has declared she wants to carry on with her father's conservation and TV work.

"Bindi's a real fighter, just like her dad. She loved him so much and knows he'd be so proud of her for picking up where he left off," an insider told the Daily Star.

Bindi will also address a people’s gathering at a public memorial service, which is to be held at the grounds of Irwin's Australia Zoo.

Meanwhile, rumors are rife that the footage of Steve's final moments, which presently is in the hands of the Australian police, may be broadcast, as it was his own wish that the camera should keep rolling in case he was attacked.

Steve’s father Bob has said that his son’s final commemoration will be a 'celebration of his life, not a sad funeral. (ANI)

Oh, and if thats not strange enough....

‘The Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin got stingray warning a day before his death
Washington, Sept 7: It is ironical, but true. ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin, who recently lost his life on Australia's Great Barrier Reef after a venomous stingray barb punctured his chest and heart, was in fact warned about the dangers of stingrays from an ocean expert the day before his death.

She probably wants closure in this whole affair and if swimming with the stingray does it for her, I would think they'd substitute a manta ray to be safe.

They killed the stingray. This is a rumor.
