On Sunday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) blocked efforts by Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) to defund Planned Parenthood. McConnell's excuses to thwart Lee's efforts don't hold much water, considering that he did attach two amendments to the bill – one to repeal ObamaCare and one to reauthorize the Export-Import bank – and neither of those were germane to the highway bill. According to Ted Cruz, had McConnell not blocked the amendment, then a vote to defund Planned Parenthood may have passed. Cruz explained on Mark Levin's radio show the other day the uber Harry Reid style games that McConnell plays with rigging the vote process and what is brought to the floor for a vote. He is a master, like corrupt Harry Reid of not letting votes to the floor that should be allowed, lying, and pushing only what he wants pushed if he and his lobbyist buddies / corporate interests benefit from it.
